Hello!

My name is Aletha Cole-Williams aka Mama Aletha and I am a kindergarten teacher at Timbuktu Academy. Previously, I taught First Grade. I have been with Timbuktu Academy for 3 1/2  years.  I attended Wayne State University in which I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a ZS endorsement in Early Childhood Education. I am currently pursuing my master's degree at Wayne State. My goal as an educator is to help children reach their highest learning potential.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking for husband, and spending time with my nieces and nephews.  I like to consider myself as a person of adventure and count a past skydiving experience in which jumping 9,000 feet out the air as evidence of my adventurous character. Besides my adventurous character, I am passionate and patient.  My passion for children is beyond just an educational experience.  Currently, I teach Sunday school working with young children ages 2-12.  Some of my best moments with the children consist of planning parties, holiday programs, skits, and using games to enrich children spiritually.

As I move forward with my career as an educator, I am looking forward to reciprocating my character in the classroom. I plan to create an exciting and creative environment conducive to learning for children to reach their highest learning potential.
